Music & Creative Works
“Sound as the through-line across every project.”
Context
Classically trained singer, actor, and dancer, Diomarys has spent over a decade in formal performance and education. She studied drama and theatre at the Scott Acting Conservatory and was a principal soprano and sponsored singer with Citywide Youth Opera. In 2020, she stepped away from interpreting classical and standard works to find her own voice.
Will Rise, released on June 19, 2020, was her first original single as a solo artist. Written and produced by Diomarys, it is a document of that transition.
She has collaborated on short film work with director Jeffrey Matos and continues to build her catalog at her own pace.
Approach
Her practice as an artist is about the marriage of education and instinct. She brings the technical foundation she has spent years building into contact with the organic, unrepeatable nature of creation. The result is music that does not force itself. A feminine approach to sound: patient, precise when it needs to be, and always in service of something honest.
She is not chasing virality. She is chasing truth.
Outcome
Music that creates connection. Not background noise. Not content for its own sake. Something that opens a conversation, closes a wound, or names a thing the listener already knew but had not heard said yet.
Inspired by artists who treat sound as medicine: (((o))), Erykah Badu, Jhené Aiko. New work is in development. No timeline. No pressure.
